MISSION STATEMENT
The Port Cities Rescue Mission Ministries was established to rescue the poor, hungry, and homeless of the Golden Triangle community by providing recovery services in a Christian environment, all in the name of Jesus.
VISION STATEMENT
As workers for the Kingdom of God, we seek to offer God's love. We aim to make places where we welcome those we serve with care and compassion, places where hearts are touched, lives are rebuilt, and hope is renewed.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Port Cities Rescue Mission Ministries was founded in 1984 as a means of addressing the increasing needs of the homeless of the Greater Golden Triangle Community. Since our inception, the doors of the Mission have never been locked to those in need. Begun as a ministry with a primary focus on the needs of homeless men, the Mission has, over the years, revised its focus to meet the new and ever-challenging needs of all of today's homeless population, including family units.
SERVICES / PROGRAMS: The Mission offers a variety of services to the homeless population of the Jefferson County community, as well as those homeless in neighboring counties. We believe that as the primary provider of no-cost, emergency and long-term, drug and alcohol-free shelter for the homeless, we must work collectively with area agencies and others to support people from homelessness to self-sufficiency. To this end, The Mission offers the following programs (list includes all programs previously offered):
· Case Management and Support
· Chapel Services (voluntary)
· Day Care (seeking grant funding)
· Drug and Alcohol-Free Facilities
· Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program (seeking grant funding)
· Learning Resource Center (seeking grant funding to expand services to our community)
