At Port Cities Rescue Mission, serving the homeless since 1984, we strive to support all individuals and families across the Golden Triangle—Port Arthur, Beaumont, Orange, their surrounding communities, and beyond.

Services

  • Housing

We provide safe and secure, drug and alcohol-free shelter for individuals and families experiencing homelessness or housing instability. We are committed to serving all individuals and families across the Golden Triangle — Port Arthur, Beaumont, Orange, and surrounding communities. Whether someone is facing a temporary setback or long-term hardship, we provide compassionate care and resources to help them rebuild their lives, offering a supportive environment where they can rest, regain stability, and plan for their future. We serve single adults and parents with children. Our goal is not just to provide a roof over their heads but to create a space where dignity and hope can flourish.

A state ID is required for admission to our housing.

  • Nutrition

Port City Rescue Mission Ministries provides nutritious meals to every resident, ensuring that we support all within our facilities. We focus on balanced meals to promote physical health and emotional well-being, understanding that proper nourishment is a vital first step to stability.

We welcome community donations to supplement our meal program, thus allowing us to serve hundreds of meals each month.

  • Clothing

Clothing donations from generous community members help us ensure that our clients are appropriately dressed for every occasion—from job interviews and school attendance to weather changes and daily activities. We organize seasonal clothing drives and distribute items based on individual needs, reinforcing dignity and self-esteem.

Through our recent partnership with One Warm Coat, we will ensure that temperature-appropriate outerwear is provided to those in need.

  • Support

Through our case management and partnerships with local agencies, licensed counselors, and community volunteers, we offer holistic support to address the emotional, spiritual, and behavioral needs of those we serve. Services include:

    *Anger and stress management

    *Grief and trauma counseling

    *Personal and social adjustment workshops

    *Group therapy and mentorship opportunities

These programs are designed to empower individuals to heal, grow, and prepare for a more stable future.

  • Documents

Our staff guides clients through the often overwhelming process of applying for and managing public assistance. We help residents connect with resources such as SSI/SSDI, SNAP (food stamps), Medicaid, TANF, and other community programs to ensure that every individual has the support they need to thrive.

Resident clients of Port Cities Rescue Mission Ministries receive assistance in completing critical applications and associated documents that help them obtain state ID cards/driver's licenses, Social Security cards, birth certificates, and any other documents required for them to apply for benefits and public assistance for which they may be eligible.

A state ID is required for admission to our housing.

  • Education

Education is a stepping stone to independence. We assist clients with their pursuit of educational opportunities, along with our partnerships within the community. For those clients interested in pursuing higher education or vocations, we provide guidance on college enrollment, scholarship opportunities, and internships specific to work placement. Our commitment is to equip individuals with the tools they need to succeed.

We believe in equipping individuals with skills that lead to lasting employment. We provide sessions to enhance or develop basic computer and clerical skills, cooking and food service, building and grounds maintenance, and lawn and garden care.

These practical opportunities not only build resumes but also boost confidence and readiness for the workforce.

  • Transportation Assistance

Transportation is often a barrier to stability. We provide transportation to essential appointments, such as medical visits, benefit interviews, job training sessions, and other activities that promote mental wellness. By helping clients locate and remain connected to resources, we create a stronger pathway toward long-term success.
